Russell WBHO Completes Second Extension and Recladding Project at Village Hotel Solihull

Russell WBHO has completed the final works at Village Hotel Club Solihull, successfully delivering our second completed project for the hotel operator to combine a major hotel extension with a full external recladding programme.

Delivered while the hotel remained fully operational, the final phase involved the replacement of more than 2,000 sq m of existing cladding and curtain walling. The new façade incorporates upgraded insulation, firebreak systems and an aluminium rainscreen system, improving the building’s thermal performance, enhancing energy efficiency and ensuring compliance with fire safety.

The completion of the external refurbishment follows our delivery of a four-storey, 48-bedroom hotel extension at the Solihull site. Connected to the existing hotel by a new link bridge, the extension created additional guest accommodation while supporting Village Hotel Club’s wider investment programme across its UK portfolio.

Together, the extension and recladding works represent a significant upgrade to the hotel and demonstrate our capability to deliver complex construction and refurbishment projects within live operational environments, where maintaining safety and minimising disruption are critical.

Our relationship with Village Hotel Club began in January 2025 when we were appointed to develop a new hotel and bedroom layouts for the group. Since then, Russell WBHO have secured contracts to deliver a growing number of hotel extensions, façade refurbishments and recladding projects across the country.

In April 2026, we completed our first full extension and recladding project for Village Hotel Club at Ashton in Greater Manchester. We’re also currently delivering similar investment projects at Village Hotel locations in Leeds South, Farnborough and Warrington, further strengthening our partnership with the brand.

Gareth Russell, Managing Director of Russell WBHO, said: “Completing all works at Solihull marks another significant milestone in our growing partnership with Village Hotel Club. Our focus on quality, safety and minimising disruption runs through every project we deliver, with careful planning helping us to work efficiently in a live environment.

“A huge thank you to our project team for their hard work and ongoing collaboration with Village Hotel Club. We look forward to continuing to deliver successful projects together.”
