Marking its fourth project for Village Hotel Club, Russell WBHO has started on site in Farnborough, Hampshire.
Russell WBHO has commenced the construction of a four-storey block at Village’s hotel on Pinehurst Road. The scheme will deliver 48 new bedrooms, which will be connected to the main building via a new link bridge. The hotel will remain fully operational throughout the 12-month construction programme, with completion scheduled for March 2027.
The work at Village Hotel Club Farnborough is the latest milestone in Village’s multi-million-pound investment and upgrade programme, with similar projects being carried out at Village Hotel Club Solihull and Leeds South. Both are on track for handover this year, adding to the upgrade of Village Hotel Ashton in Greater Manchester, which was completed earlier this year.
Gareth Russell, Managing Director at Russell WBHO, said: “We’re pleased to be strengthening our partnership with Village Hotel Club as it continues to respond to growing customer demand across the UK. Since 2024, we’ve worked collaboratively to support the group’s investment programme, optimising space and enhancing the guest experience through a new design model.
“With a focus on quality, safety and effective communication, all work has been carried out to minimise disruption to guests and existing facilities. In Farnborough, this includes maintaining access to the neighbouring business park.”
Andrew Weisz, Head of Property at Village Hotel Club, added: “We’re excited to be bringing even more to Village Hotel Farnborough. These additional bedrooms, alongside the upgraded Starbucks and the introduction of Darts Social and Reformer Pilates, are all about enhancing the experience for our guests – whether they’re staying overnight, working remotely or just popping in.”
The Farnborough project is targeting a BREEAM Very Good rating and follows Russell WBHO’s work in developing new hotel and bedroom layouts designed to increase capacity across the Village Hotel portfolio.
