Two-storey 12,000 sq ft building, designed by 5Plus and Cube with the interior layout, specification and design by Ingo Interiors, and fitted out by Spatial Office Environments. The striking deep pitch roof is designed to resemble the chimneys of local landmark, Fiddlers Ferry Power Station, with four window-topped turrets funnelling natural light to the internal space. Externally, the brick clad steel frame building also features large glazed recesses to maximise natural light, plus brise soleil to prevent glare.
Halton Housing Head Office
The scheme consists of a two storey office block with steel frame construction, slate & single ply roof coverings, metal decking floors with concrete infill.
The roof has 4 turrets with roof lights to aid natural lighting and ventilation. The building envelope is brick clad with full height curtain walling windows with brise soliel for solar shading. The internals are of an industrial look with painted blockwork and power floated concrete floors, 2 precast stairs and a feature metal stair. The building is served by mains water and electric, no gas, a joint heating and cooling system will be installed distributed by exposed ducting to the exposed metal decking soffit. The scheme also has a maintenance building to store all Halton Borough’s maintenance equipment, this is again a steel framed building with a cladded roof and walls. The access to the building is off Warrington Rd with an adopted roadway linked to the new housing development. The site has a tarmac carpark serving 91 spaces with 4 disabled parking bays. There is paving to the full perimeter of the office block.
