Russell WBHO is delighted to announce the new Premier Inn at Circle Square has been shortlisted for the Sustainability Award in the North West Regional Construction Awards 2021.
A truly collaborative project between clients Bruntwood and Premier Inn, architects Fielden Clegg Bradley and Leach Rhodes Walker, consultants, sub-contractors and the Russell WBHO team, the striking building in Manchester’s Princess Street has exceeded its targets in almost every way.
With a brief to reduce use of fossil fuels, better Part L and achieve BREEAM Very Good, we were thrilled to score just four marks under BREEAM Excellent and better Part L by more than 30%.
And with a bespoke H&V system installed to avoid the need to use natural gas, we provided the client with heating efficiencies of over 700% and cooling efficiencies of over 1,300%, while the 600m2 94kWh solar PV will avoid 43,000kg CO2 per year and save £11,000 on operational fuel costs.
The award ceremony is being held in Liverpool on Friday November 19th.
