National Apprenticeship Week 2021

National Apprenticeships Week

We currently have 22 young people at various stages of the five-year programme, working on live projects right across the region.

We’ll be adding another cohort this August, when the 2021 intake joins the programme. Applications for this close at the end of the week, so anyone interested can get more information here or send a CV and covering letter to BuildingStudents2021@russellwbho.co.uk by February 13th.

The five-year scheme includes a fully-funded degree at the University of Salford, with trainees attending lectures one-day-a-week, alongside in-depth on-the-job training and in-house sessions, all overseen by their dedicated mentor.

Graduates of the programme go on to successful construction careers with Russell WBHO in a range of roles, including project managers, site managers, estimators and quantify surveyors.

The quality of vocational education provided by the programme is second to none, and two of last year’s graduates secured first class degrees.

The partnership with the University of Salford began in 2010 and Russell WBHO was last year acknowledged as Large Employer of the Year at the university’s annual Apprenticeship Awards.

To read more about the programme from the view point of those currently training, take a look at what trainee quantity surveyors Abbie Norton and Nathan Gollins have to say.
