Russell WBHO Building Student Programme
A five-year professional apprenticeship, the Building Student programme provides on-the-job training alongside a fully-funded part-time degree
Open to candidates who have completed A-Levels, BTEC Level 3 or equivalent, the Russell WBHO Building Student programme offers an exciting opportunity for anyone looking for a career in construction management, estimating, site engineering or quantity surveying.
Employed as a member of the Russell WBHO team, Building Student trainees also undertake a part-time degree with the University of Salford.
Applicants to the programme will be assessed and interviewed by the Russell WBHO training and recruitment team. Those who are successful will be enrolled by the company on the relevant course at the University of Salford, subject to meting the University’s course-entry requirements.
Vocational training will involve on-the-job experience working on some of the biggest and most high profile construction projects in the North West, learning from senior colleagues and appointed mentors.
Alongside this, trainees will attend the University of Salford one day each week as part of their degree studies.
For the initial two years of the five-year programme, Building Student trainees will undertake placements in key departments within the business and be exposed a variety of roles, gain a wide breath of knowledge.
The final three years of the programme will see Building Students pursue a specialism and complete their degree in either Quantity Surveying and Estimating, or Site Engineering and Construction / Project Management.
Upon successful completion of the programme, Building Student trainees will continue as full-time employees of the company. *

Interviews will take place in March 2021 with training set to commence in August 2021.
