Russell WBHO has successfully completed its second black box extension for Village Hotel Club, delivering the project at Solihull on time and within budget, with recladding works now underway.
The scheme forms part of a multi-million-pound investment programme by one of the UK’s leading hotel and health & wellness brands, aimed at enhancing guest experience and expanding capacity across its portfolio.
Located just two miles from Junction 4 of the M42, the Solihull extension delivers 48 additional bedrooms across four storeys. The new building is linked to the existing hotel, which remained operational throughout construction, via a purpose-built link bridge, ensuring minimal disruption to guests and staff.
The latest completion further strengthens Russell WBHO’s partnership with Village Hotel Club. It follows the successful delivery of the Ashton expansion in November 2025, while construction at Leeds South continues and remains on track for completion in September 2026.

Building on the Solihull project, Russell WBHO has also secured the associated recladding works, which commenced in February 2026. The programme will include the removal of all the existing cladding system, installation of new insulation and fire breaks, and the application of an approved aluminium rainscreen façade. Once complete, the upgrades will deliver improved thermal performance, reducing heat loss and enhancing energy efficiency.
Over the past decade, Russell WBHO has delivered more than 2,500 hotel rooms across the UK, working with major operators including Fairmont Hotels & Resorts, Accor, Premier Inn, Motel One, Holiday Inn, Travelodge, Radisson, and Dalata Hotels.
