Yearsley, Heywood, Phase 5
The scheme, Phase 5 of the firm’s development of its Heywood headquarters, marks the launch of the Yearsley Logistics Northern Superhub.
The super-insulated unit – which will operate at minus 25 degrees celsius – is one the most energy efficient examples of its type in the country, built to BREEAM Very Good standard and boasts a state-of-the-art racking system.
The refrigeration system uses the best proven technologies together with intelligent controlled systems to minimise power consumption. Russell WBHO advised on the land acquisition, planning and design and completed the build within a tight nine-month construction programme to help Yearsleys meet its contract obligations. The 34-week project, from excavation to temperature pull down, benefited from Russell WBHO past experience on several Yearsley Group schemes.
