Extension to their existing distribution facility of NFT one of the UK’s leading chilled food distributor and provider. The extension included 15,000 sq. ft. of chilled storage and the introduction of 6 extra dock levellers.
Construction of the steel framed chill store utilised a built up cladding system to the external envelope with an insulated wall and ceiling panelling system internally to form the chill store chamber with a 6m ceiling height
The refrigeration system installed was designed to maintain +2°C within the controlled environment.
The chill store extension was serviced by means of two commercial type direct expansion systems using R404a as the refrigerant. Each system comprised of 1no remote air cooled condensing unit connected to 2no ceiling mounted evaporators, located at high level within the store. The construction of the facility used fast track construction methods whilst not impinging on NFT current distribution operations at the facility to fully complete and hand over the building to NFT in time for their busy Christmas period.
