On Thursday 26 February, colleagues from across Russell WBHO came together for our Business Update and Annual Business Awards.
The afternoon was dedicated to reflecting on our progress, recognising outstanding achievements and celebrating the people who drive our success.
We began with a company-wide business update, providing insight into performance over the past year, key milestones achieved and looking ahead to the rest of 2026. It was a great opportunity to acknowledge the collective effort behind another strong year for the business and to thank our head office and site teams across all departments for their continued efforts.
Following the update, attention turned to our Annual Business Awards and Long Service Awards, a highlight of the Russell WBHO calendar. We opened nominations in November last year, with them closing at the end of December, giving employees the chance to recognise colleagues who consistently go above and beyond. Staff were invited to vote across a range of categories and were encouraged to include a short narrative outlining why they were nominating someone.
This years award categories included the Russell WBHO Individual of the Year (monthly paid), the HSEQ Outstanding Individual Contribution Award, the Individual of the Year (weekly paid), the Building Student of the Year Award, and our Long Service Awards. Each category highlighted different aspects of excellence within the business, from professional achievements and leadership to dedication to health, safety, environment and quality, as well as recognising our emerging talent.
Our Long Service Awards recognise colleagues who have dedicated 10, 15 and 20 years of service to the business and this year, we are especially proud to celebrate one colleague reaching an outstanding 26 years with Russell WBHO. This is a significant milestone and a testament to their commitment and contribution to the company.
Once the Business Update and Annual Business Awards had concluded, we kept the energy up into the evening with a friendly game of padel – revealing many of our team members’ competitive streaks!
The Russell WBHO Business Update and Annual Business Awards once again showcased the strength of the Russell WBHO team and was a great way to value hard work, recognise achievements and celebrate the people behind our success.
