Young rugby league players are sporting a brand new kit thanks to sponsorship from Russell WBHO.
Extending a two-year partnership, the contractor is supporting the Hindley Amateur Rugby League Football Club (ARLFC) in Wigan. The deal sees the Russell WBHO logo on the back of the shirts of the U12 Golds team until 2025.
Russell WBHO’s project director, Richard Sumner, is the assistant coach for the talented youngsters whose season got off to a winning start. Donning their new kits, the team won their first match 28 -10.
Richard said: “It’s great to see Russell WBHO continue its support for such a community-focused rugby club. Having coached at Hindley ARLFC for the past four years, I’ve seen first-hand the positive difference it makes locally, helping to inspire young players and improve their health and wellbeing.
“The new shirts look fantastic and were matched by a great performance by the U12 Golds, kicking off another exciting season.”
The U12 Golds’ kit is one of 19 made for Hindley ARLFC which unveiled the designs on 6 March 2024 at a special event for players, sponsors and supporters. Among the 900 guests was Matt Peet, Wigan Warriors Head Coach and former Hindley player who shared his thoughts on the club and grassroots rugby league.
Speaking at the event, Barry Taylor, Chairman of Hindley ARLFC, said: “We are thrilled to unveil our latest collection of kits and express our heartfelt gratitude to our sponsors for their unwavering support. Their generosity enables us to continue our mission of fostering talent and promoting the values of sportsmanship and teamwork within our community.”
The evening also revealed the club would be rebranded to Hindley Stags / Hindley Hinds ARLFC marking the beginning of a new chapter in its 33-year history.
