Heywood Point comprises 213,000 s ft of space over two buildings, with associated car parking and delivery yards.
The two high specification units are H1 68,000 sq ft and H2 145,000 sq ft, and include five per cent office space. Both have large external yards and loading docks. Ideal for logistics firms, with good access to Junction 3 of the M66, the site and forms part of an existing distribution hub which is already home to Eddie Stobart, Kuehne and Nagle, and Argos.
John Groves, the estate park manager, said he was extremely impressed with the project: “With a Park as busy as Heywood it is always difficult to get the right balance while such large works are taking place, but I was impressed with the way the project was carried out in a professional way with minimal disruption to the running of the Park. The project team has been informative and co-operative from the early days during set up, right through to the final handover of two quality builds brought in on time. Credit where it is due to all.”
XLB Projects project managed the build on behalf of Harbert Management, with funding provided by HEFEF. The architect was Michael Sparks, and the engineer Healy Consulting. Shepherd Brombley Partnership was the mechanical and electrical engineering contractor.
