Russells Shortlisted for Insider award

Hanover Russells Construction 187

Russells Construction has been shortlisted for this year’s North West Business Insider property awards. The Manchester-Based main contractor is one of six up for Construction Business of the Year 2019.
The winner will be announced at a ceremony at Manchester Central on May 16th along with those topping another 15 categories.

The last 12 months has seen steady and sustained growth, and the investment of a major global construction business WBHO, as the company continues to delver major projects across Manchester and beyond. These include some of the most complex and high profile schemes in the city centre, including Axis, Oxygen, 3 St Peter’s, CircleSquare, and NOMA. The coming year will build on these foundations to become the firm’s best on record.

Andrew Russell, who co-founded the business in 1997 with brother Gareth, said: “The coming year will see Russells break through the £100m mark, cementing our position as one of the region’s most active main contractors and validating a growth strategy which has focused primarily on quality of delivery.

“We have the capability of a Tier 1 contractor and have been successfully winning major contracts throughout the North West and beyond. We’re confident this is down to a proven delivery capability and the security of our financial position.

“Our team of more than 180 construction professionals offers clients unrivalled knowledge and the experience required when delivering complex contracts. Client and supply chain relationships are also key, and we are seeing more repeat business from both developers and end-users.

“Thanks to sustained and stable growth over recent years, and the recent investment of global construction business WBHO, we have a secure forward order book and are in a financially strong position to deliver major projects at a competitive price.

“We have never been busier, with no less than 11 projects in Manchester city centre itself and yet more across the region. The opportunities available make for exciting times for the business, which Gareth and I continue to drive forward, building on the foundations already laid to achieve sustainable future growth.”

Three projects Russells has been involved with will also battle it out for Commercial Development of the Year. The rebirth of Hanover, a £35m restoration project for NOMA in central Manchester (pictured above) and an £8m refurbishment of The Core in Brown Street, for Boultbee Brooks and OBI, are shortlisted. Also in the running is Logistics North, the major industrial development from Haworth Group near Bolton, where Russells previously built a manufacturing and distribution facility for American mining giant Joy Global.
