Russells completes NOMA scheme

How working at Federation could be

The building provides 71,300 sq ft of office space over nine floors, two below ground, and has been stripped back to create open footplates with high ceilings, making the most of the natural light and heritage features.

NOMA, a JV between the Co-operative Group and Hermes Real Estate, is one of the UK’s largest regeneration projects with new build and refurbishment schemes across 20 acres of Manchester city centre.

The Co-op recently announced it is to take the fifth and sixth floors of the building, totalling 16,100 sq ft, to house its online development team Co-op Digital.

The space has been designed to provide a blank canvas for occupiers and is aimed at the creative and digital industries sector and those attracted by collaborative working opportunities. Its location, on the edge of the Northern Quarter and at the heart of the city’s northern transport hub, makes it an ideal location for start ups and more established businesses.

Ben Tolhurst, asset manager at Hermes Investment Management, said: “Manchester is increasingly becoming an attractive location for small and large businesses alike, on account of its connectivity, culture and the breadth of skills on offer. We’re delighted that Federation and our other refurbished buildings are coming online and look forward to welcoming many digital pioneers helping shape the future of NOMA as a leading UK innovation district.”
