The Challenge

A technically-challenging three phase scheme to bring back into use 120,000 sq ft across three buildings in Liverpool city centre. Vita Student offers 357 high specification rooms in the Grade II-listed Chapel the 1878 Crosshalls and 1960s Tinlings buildings, all located on a busy city centre street.

The Chapel – 68 Apartments

Full internal structural demolition leaving only the external façade. External façade to be retained using an internal bracing system. Piles to be installed as foundations. Structural steel frame to be erected internal to the retained facades. Metal deck intermediate floors. All facades are to be refurbished and retained as existing to be kept in keeping with the original structure.
