Hanover, the stunning Grade II listed building in Manchester City centre which is set to become home to Amazon, has officially been unveiled.
The launch event was attended by members of the project team as well as the great and the good of Manchester’s property scene.
Manchester City council leader Sir Richard Leese was invited to address the guests, and hailed the vision of the development team, the quality of the refurbishment, and welcomed the arrival of Amazon to the city.
Amazon UK country manager Doug Gurr spoke at length about the business and its plan to create 600 jobs in Manchester, while Chris Darroch, fund director Hermes Investment management, thanked all those involved in the delivery of the project.
Russells Construction was singled out and praised for the incredible transformation achieved, from part-derelict relic to one of the best examples of heritage restoration in the city.
“Hanover has been truly reborn, and looks absolutely incredible,” said Gareth Russell, who oversaw the £35m project. “The whole team is enormously proud of what has been achieved here.”
