Russell WBHO has donated £1500 to the neonatal unit at the Bolton Royal Hospital this Christmas.
The corporate donation has become an annual tradition in lieu of sending Christmas cards.
Previous charities to benefit include The Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital, The Christie, Abigail’s Ambition and the Salford Food Bank.
Staff were asked to nominate a charity or cause close to their heart and the directors selected one to receive the money.
It was decided to provide support for the neonatal unit following a nomination by HR manager Olivia Lea whose twin nephews are being cared for at the hospital after being born prematurely.
The donation will be used to fund a new twin cot at the unit, so premature twins can be kept together during their treatment.

Olivia said: “All the nurses on the neonatal unit have been outstanding. It would mean a lot if we could give them something back, and for funding to be available so they can continue to care for the twins and other premature babies.
“My family and I are overwhelmed by this generous donation. Thank you so much to the company, this money will help to support families and the staff who do such an amazing job.”
Russell WBHO supports a range of charities throughout the year, and provides company donations to staff fundraisers. Over the last year this has included the Lighthouse Charity, the construction industry’s mental health charity, and Abigail’s Ambition which is raising money for research into childhood cancer treatment.
