Russells Construction presents RICS seminars

Nick Sunderland Russells Construction Commercial Director

The series of breakfast briefings, which provide delegates with CPD points, are open to both RICS members and non-members. Each is aimed at providing quantity surveyors and project managers with the knowledge they need to administer contracts effectively and avoid unnecessary disputes.

The last of three Liverpool-based events this month is being held on Thursday March 28th at the DWF office in Old Hall Street. Places can still be booked on the seminar, entitled Instruction and Variations in Construction Contracts.

This will be followed by Essential Contract Law which will be covered at the RICS Spring Knowledge Day on the Isle of Man on Friday April 26th where Russells’ commercial director Nick Sunderland will be one of four speakers throughout the day.

Nick, who’s previous position before Russells was at leading construction claims group Knowles (now HKA), has more than 17 years’ experience of such issues. He also guest lectures at the University of Salford as part of Russells’ training partnership with the university.

He said: “It is a pleasure to be working with RICS to provide informative sessions for quantity surveyors and project managers. The focus of the sessions is to provide awareness of key contractual issues that will assist in avoiding unnecessary disputes, thereby enhancing quality and client satisfaction.”

Jen Doyle from RICS North West, said: “Nick’s unrivalled expertise in the field of construction-related contract administration and dispute resolution gives our delegates an excellent opportunity to learn or refresh their knowledge in this area, and secure valuable CPD points. We are delighted that Nick and Russells have come on board to support our education programme, and we look forward to working with the team on more topics in the future.”

More details of this seminar programme are available on the RICS website, with further details to be posted when event registration open.
