The Challenge

Conversion and refurbishment of a Grade II Listed building in Manchester city centre for developer Property Alliance Group, including installation of a single storey upward extension. Working on such a landmark building required careful attention to detail and close liaison with heritage officers.

Freetrade Exchange, Manchester

Works involved construction of the upper floor, full mechanical and electrical installation, new curtain walling for the upper floors, timber window repairs, stone column and masonry repairs to the façade, a glazed entrance and new lift shaft.

Russell WBHO delivered an internal fit out to a high quality specification using traditional crafts and materials which enhanced the building’s original features.
