Crown Commercial Services framework goes live this week

Russells Construction has been appointed to the seven year CCS Framework

Manchester’s Russells Construction has been appointed to the Crown Commercial Service [CCS] framework, which is estimated to be worth up to £30billion in construction work and services over its seven-year duration.

Going live this month, it is the most valuable framework launched in the UK for Central Government procurement, which will help shape public sector construction going forward. It is the first ever Government-led construction framework available for the whole public sector to appoint contractors for constructing new schools, hospitals, offices, universities, prisons and residential accommodation.

The CCS has made it clear that all the contractors appointed to the framework support the Government’s ambitions with regard to supply chain collaboration, technical innovation and carbon reduction targets, in addition to the customary guarantees of quality, cost control and social responsibility.

Russells CCS Framework Director Nick Sunderland said: ‘Our business model is based on forging long term alliances with our clients.

“Our appointment by the CCS gives Russells an opportunity to welcome public sector clients to our business and we look forward to delivering quality projects and playing an integral role in contributing to the overall success of this framework.

“Moreover, appointment to a long-term framework will allow us to work in collaboration with public sector clients to deliver our social value objectives, namely to provide employment opportunities and create sustainable communities in our region.”

With a portfolio of clients spanning the commercial, industrial, retail, leisure and residential sectors, Russell WBHO has the experience and expertise to deliver schemes on time and on budget.
