Construction of Manchester’s second Motel One in Cross Street continues apace.

The scheme will see the creation of a new build 303-bedroom hotel with the original heritage facade of the building retained. Russells Construction has completed a controlled demolition of the old 1980s office block structure at the rear of the facade, and is now in the process of installing the steel frame structure which will form the new section.

This is the second Motel One in the city which Russells has been commissioned to build for the budget design hotel brand. The first, Motel One Piccadilly in London Road, completed last summer.

The project is being recorded with aerial and ground photography, to follow progress keep an eye on this blog.
