The main focus of the new drone photography is Waterfront Point, the new headquarters of Halton Housing built by Russells Construction. The aerial angle allows the building to be seen in context with the cooling towers of the Fiddlers Ferry Power Station in the distance, which it mirrors with its unique design.
The striking roof structure also funnels huge shafts of light into the offices beneath. This provides workers with natural light, which is often preferred, and is more environmentally friendly due to the use of less electricity. The building was designed by 5Plus and Cube Architects, and pictures of the interior can be viewed in the gallery here.
Behind the office lies a development on new homes, Bower Brook Gardens. This £14m development is a joint venture between Halton Housing and Russells Construction’s sister company Russell Homes and has delivered 185 new properties for the people of Widnes.
